Arendsig, Chenin Blanc 2023

Arendsig is a boutique single-vineyard estate in Robertson, South Africa, led by winemaker Lourens van der Westhuizen. Farming with minimal intervention on deep red-clay soils, the estate emphasises terroir expression, spontaneous fermentations and maturing wines in neutral vessels to preserve purity of fruit. Rooted in place and subtlety, not showy oak. Pale straw with green tinge. The 2023 Chenin Blanc opens with aromas of yellow apple, pineapple and white pear, layered with a hint of nutty complexity. On the palate it is rich and broad-shouldered yet lively, showing depth of flavour balanced by crisp acidity, finishing with fine texture and a long, elegant finish. Maturation: 10 months in neutral 300 L & 500 L French oak. 8340 bottles produced.
